- Add shallots, curry leaves, and garlic. Sauté until the shallots turn golden.
- Mix in the chopped tomato, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and asafoetida. Sauté until the raw smell dissipates.
- Add the drained rice and Toor Dal, stirring well to combine.
- Pour in the water and add salt to taste. Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to the rice cooking setting.
- Once the cooking cycle is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally. Serve the Arisimparuppu warm, drizzled with a teaspoon of ghee.
